Great Yarmouth Minster will be opening its doors to Futures Fest, a careers event with a difference.

The event is on Thursday, July 5 from 10.30am to 8pm.

Schools and colleges from Great Yarmouth, Norwich and Lowestoft will visit the dozens of universities, colleges and business stands throughout the day.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council will also have a stand.

The event also features a community art festival which will be opened at 5pm by the mayor of the borough of Great Yarmouth Mary Coleman.

The event is organised by the Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach and is part of its Take Your Place programme of activity focusing on improving progression of targeted young people in year 9-13 to higher education.

Event organiser, Marie Borrego, higher education champion for Neaco, said: “Futures Fest is a new way of inspiring young people and parents in the Great Yarmouth area to consider the options available after leaving school or college.”
