A MUM is celebrating her weight-loss success after she transformed her figure by losing three stone in 30 weeks.

Lisa Hodds, of Great Yarmouth, was determined to lose weight when she became upset by the way she looked in a picture taken at a work Christmas party.

But the 43-year-old managed to turn her fortunes around by dropping from a size 18 to size 10 and winning the Woman of the Year
at the Great Yarmouth Slimming World Group.

Lisa, who lives with her son and daughter, will now compete in the Slimming World regional finals on Sunday.

If she is successful, she will be put forward for the national title and the chance of winning £5,000.

Speaking about her experience, she
said she wouldn’t have been able to lose the weight without her family, who have given her so much support since she took the decision to join
the weight loss programme.

She said: “I was first inspired to start trying to lose weight when a I saw a photo taken of me at Christmas party on December 4.

“I just thought it looked awful and I decided I had to do something about it – so I joined Slimming World.

“The diet plan was easy to follow because you don’t have to
calorie count and you never go hungry,

“Now, I feel amazing; I have gone from a size 18 to a size 10 and I can now go to places like River Island and buy the clothes that
I want to wear.

“I also feel better at work as well. I used to
feel sluggish running up and down steps, but now I have so much more energy.

“I have managed to reach my target, but I still want to try and lose more in the future.

“Losing weight is a confidence thing. It really boosts your self-esteem.

“My family have been so supportive all the way through.

“They have all praised me up saying just how nice I look.”

The dental assistant now hopes to turn her attention towards
helping other people who want to lose weight, as she is considering becoming a Slimming World Consultant.

The national Slimming World Woman of the Year 2011 will be announced in November.
