Facebook users have reacted indifferently to news the former BHs store in Great Yarmouth is to become a Poundstretcher, with many hoping clothing brand Primark would take on the unit.
The discount brand this week announced it had bought the Regent Road unit and hoped to open its doors within five weeks, however, the reaction has been mixed at best.
Kat Wilkinson said: “I wish it was Primark. There is already Poundland in the town, why the need for Poundstretcher too? This is why I shop in Norwich.”
Andrew Sheppard said: “There’s way too many stores like this in Yarmouth.”
Jill Dawson simply said: “Disappointing.”
Sharon Blankley said: “I feel sorry for all the independent small shop owners having to compete with them.”
Christine Mackenzie added: “I would rather have a Primark - it’s what Great Yarmouth needs.”

Alan Pitt, however, said: “Great news for Yarmouth - any shop is better than no shops and it will encourage others to come into town.”
Ross Futter added: “All I see is jobs, jobs jobs. It is great news that any company is moving in regardless of whether you will want to buy their products or not.”
