Despite the nerves and anxiety of the task ahead, 10 members of Great Yarmouth Round Table took their chairman's charity challenge on and braved a tandem skydive from 13,000ft to raise funds to support local charity, Nelson's Journey.
When James Shipp took the role of chairman earlier this year, he was focused on doing as much as possible to help the club make a big difference locally and he set members a skydive challenge to help Nelson’s Journey, which supports local children who have suffered a bereavement.
Undaunted, the 10 members, including James Shipp, bravely stepped forward for the jump in early September – raising a massive £5,500.
Last week, six of the jumpers visited the Nelson’s Journey headquarters to hand over the cheque, plus see and hear first-hand about the great work the charity does from its CEO Simon Wright.
