Great Yarmouth’s erosion issues debated at parliament

PUBLISHED: 17:31 08 December 2010

COASTAL erosion was the topic of discussion as Great Yarmouth MP Brandon Lewis met with ministers this week.

Mr Lewis talked to DEFRA Minister, Richard Benyon MP and North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb among others about the Shoreline Management Plans and ideas that could be taken forward to empower people locally.

Mr Lewis said: “The meeting with Norman and Richard was very useful and am glad to have got the chance to talk about this.

“I feel we are in a great position to be talking about how we can progress and involve the local communities in coastal issues – after all they are the ones most at risk from coastal erosion.”
