Work will begin in Great Yarmouth on or soon after Monday to carry out drainage works on the pavement on the east side of South Beach Parade from the entrance of Wellington Pier down to the access to Pleasure Beach Gardens.

The new drainage works are required to upgrade the existing drainage system, which has reached the end of its life, and to pick up existing drainage features into the new system.

The county council works are expected to take up to seven weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions.

Traffic on South Beach Parade will be unaffected by the works and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the work.

The work, which will cost £43,750, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the works.
