QUITTING smokers from around Great Yarmouth have smashed through a government target before the end of the year.
NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney’s Stop Smoking Team had to help 1,876 smokers quit by the end of March, but the figures already in for the end of February show they are over this with 1,903 people having stopped.
The government sets the targets for each financial year, from April to March the following year.
