Following the announcement that a luxury cruise ship will be stopping at Great Yarmouth later this year, we've decided to take a look at the top things to do in the seaside town.
According to Trip Advisor, these are the top rated things to do/places to visit in and around Great Yarmouth.
1. Gorleston Beach
Situated just a few miles south of Great Yarmouth, Gorleston has the top-rated beach in the area according to the review site.
2. Time and Tide Museum
A so-called museum of Great Yarmouth life, the museum’s galleries tell the story of the town from simple sandbank to thriving port and seaside resort.
3. Merrivale Model Village
A favourite among kids and adults, the model village features a 350m garden railway and an old penny arcade too. You can even play crazy golf here as well.
4. Hemsby Beach
The seaside resort of Hemsby is just over seven miles north of Great Yarmouth. It’s a popular destination for Norfolk holiday-makers.
The famous Joyland theme park opened way back in 1949, but has since seen many changes. It’s still a favourite cheap attraction for families and is now home to an American Diner.
6. Hippodrome Circus
There’s always loads going on at the Hippodrome Circus - from Christmas spectaculars to a pirate water show.
7. The Pleasure Beach
The family theme park opened in 1909 and has been popular ever since. It dominates the sea-front skyline with it’s famous Skydrop ride.
8. Great Yarmouth Central Beach
Probably the most popular beach in the area and home to numerous boardwalk attractions.
9. Yarmouth Stadium
Located on Caister-on-Sea just outside of Great Yarmouth, the stadium is a home to greyhound racing track.
10. Sea Life Centre
Although slightly pricier than the other attractions on the list, the Sea Life centre is home to many exhibits including a crocodile enclosure and Humboldt Penguins.
