As petrol prices head for a new high, help is at hand for Great Yarmouth and Gorleston residents with the launch of a new Green Travel Map.

The map aims to help people cut fuel bills and benefit their health by switching from the car to bikes, walking and public transport. Produced by Norfolk County Council, the map shows how easy it is to get around Great Yarmouth and Gorleston without having to use a car.

It shows short cuts that can be use on foot or bike, cycle facilities as well as a whole host of useful tips such as bus and train information. It also includes advice on how to squeeze more miles from every litre of petrol when you have to use the car.

It was officially launched yesterday in Great Yarmouth Market Place.

The maps are being delivered to local schools. They will also be available in libraries, council information points and on the smarter travel choices section of Norfolk County Council's website www.norfolk.gov.uk.
