The mayor of Great Yarmouth was guest of honor at an exciting and imaginative after-school reading café which has been launched at Greenacre First, Middle and Nursery School. Children and their parents, turned up not only for a chance to sample the great range of books on the shelves but to share in challenges and games as well as stories served up with drinks and biscuits like in a proper café.

The mayor joined in creating his own Gruffalo puppet with lollipop sticks, glitter, glue, paper and wobbly eyes.

The weekly session is supported by Beverley Bird of Norfolk Children's Services and owes much to the hard work of the school's librarian, Sandra Spyer. The weekly café is focusing on foundation and early years' children, but will expand to attract all years within the school.
