GEORGIA Edwards is on track to achieve her dream of a modelling career after winning a national competition.

The Gorleston girl has been voted winner of the first heat of the Grid Girl modelling competition. Now the teenager is looking forward adding some glamour to the exciting world of motor racing appearing as a grid girl at Snetterton race course in July.

She will be joined trackside by Leanne Stephens from Great Yarmouth who finished third in the online competition run by the Kerri Parker Model Academy in association with Thundersport GB.

Both girls will also appear in the official 2010 Grid Girl calendar and on TV and photo shoots with Norwich model Kerri Parker.

Georgia, whose dad Russell owns Gorleston's Ocean Room, said: “I was shocked when Kerri told me I had won, but am really excited for the future as I want to get into glamour and promotional work. There were 100 girls from all over the country in the competition so winning is a big step forward in my aim of pursuing a modelling career.”

Adverts around town will also feature Georgia after she was chosen as the face of Quasar laser game arcade.
