A man was hospitalised after a car struck a tree on the A143.

Norfolk Police were called to the Haddiscoe Bends, between St Olaves and Haddiscoe, at 9.35 on Monday morning (December 2) to reports a vehicle had hit a tree.

A man suffered minor injuries.

The fire services sent appliances from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Carrow, with crews using hydraulic rescue equipment with ladders to rescue the injured man.

Paramedics transported the man to James Paget Hospital for further treatment.

The road was closed for some time while officers dealt with traffic control.
