And a salon in Gorleston is reaping the benefits of being the best it can be as it vies for a top national award.

The Hair Base in the High Street is hoping to sweep the floor with its rivals and claim the Hair Salon of the Year title in the English Hair and Beauty Awards, having been named as a finalist.

Shop manager Lynnell Osborne said the whole team was thrilled to get so far based solely on the feedback from clients.

“It is something I am absolutely passionate about,” she said.

“The team work really hard to give a great client experience. It is nice to know we are being recognised and it is good for the area.”

She said it was their customer service and charity support that had give them the edge.

The team will travel to Leicester in March when the overall winners - and who else is in the running - will be revealed.

Meanwhile the focus is on gathering evidence to support their nomination.
