Famous husband and wife team Neil and Christine Hamilton visited Great Yarmouth last week to raise funds for the local branch of the UK Independence Party (UKIP).

Neil Hamilton rose to prominence as a Tory MP and cabinet minister, before the pair became known for TV appearances - including Mrs Hamilton placing third on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2002.

The Hamiltons joined local UKIP organiser Matthew Smith and county councillor Rex Parkinson-Hare on the campaign trail in the day before attending a fundraiser with more than 50 guests last Friday.

Mr Hamilton, who serves on UKIP’s national executive committee said: “The party is very active in this borough and it is a pleasure to support such a hard working branch.

“The county council elections coming up this year are an excellent opportunity for people to vote for someone different rather than the same old tired Lib/Lab/Con candidates.”
