FASHION student and “karaoke queen” Hannah Duffer will see her face on her own CD cover after wowing judges from the music industry to win Great Yarmouth college's version of the X-Factor.

Hannah, 22, won a day in a recording studio to make a CD to raise money for the Palliative Care East - and she had never intended to enter the competition.

Her friends persuaded the karaoke fan who just loves to sing to audition for the college's second year of their own version of the hit TV singing competition.

“I'm so pleased friends pushed me to enter now,” said Hannah, a first year BTEC fashion and textiles student who dazzled the audience with her change of outfit to suit each song.

“The only thing that makes me happy apart from fashion is singing and I'm a real karaoke girl but I've never done anything like this before.”

Hannah wowed a capacity audience in the college's brand new theatre in its new 2 million school of performing arts with three numbers including Eva Cassidy's Fields of Gold and Amy Winehouse's Valerie as well as her creative outfit changes.

Six competitors performed two songs before the audience and the judges voted for three to sing again.

In the grand final were Hannah, Chloe Barker, a hairdressing student and Ashley Bovington, a performing arts student.

Other finalists were Charlotte Allen, who is studying childcare, Cassie Ellis, also a childcare student and Jamie Lee Gallagher, a hairdressing student.

Judges, including Trevor Gray from electronica band Apollo 440, were impressed by Hannah's confident performances and stage presence as well as her incredible voice.
