Headteacher offers himself for hire

THE headteacher of Winterton Primary School will be putting himself at someone's beck and call when he raffles himself at the school's Christmas Fair next month.

Richard Endall says he is prepared to give up three to four hours of his time to look after someone's children while their parents do Christmas shopping. Alternatively, he will deliver Christmas cards or wrap up presents or any other “reasonable” task.

He said: “It's not the first time I've done this. I was head at Fleggburgh school and I am wondering what I am letting myself in for. The first time I ever raffled myself I ended up decorating a porch for the parents of some pupils. The children thought it was hilarious that 'sir' was painting the porch with shorts on.”

Mr Endall added: “The second time, two five year old twins won and I was asked to spend an evening in their company and ended up on all fours on the floor putting a Thomas the Tank Engine railway track together so we could play trains.”

Fair organiser Tracy Bolch said: “He has been at our school since September and has already made a very good impression on everyone in school and speaking as a governor, as well as the co-chair of the Friends Association, we are extremely pleased with his work so far.”

The fair is on Friday, December 5, 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
