Anyone aged 45 or over will have the chance to try a wide range of activities at Acle War Memorial Recreation Centre on October 30 - which could lead to a healthier, more sociable lifestyle.

The open day, from 9.30am (registration) to 3.30pm, is being run by Broadland District Council with activities on offer including badminton, table tennis, tai chi, pilates, yoga, indoor bowls, dance, a gentle exercise session, new age kurling, archery, golf and others.

“The idea is to give people of all levels of fitness the chance to try activities that appeal to them in a sociable setting,” said Stuart Clancy, the council’s portfolio holder for economic development.

“All the activities are available at clubs in the area so if people find something they enjoy they can continue with it. It’s important for everyone’s health to keep active but we want to make it an enjoyable and social experience not a chore.”

Information will be available. For a schedule, call 01603-430564 or email: earle.jacotine@broadland.gov.uk
