Help for problem gamblers in Yarmouth

A NEW support service has been launched in Great Yarmouth to help deal with those dealing with gambling problems.

Norfolk-based charity NORCAS has teamed up with GamCare to offer practical advice, support, information and specialist counselling for individuals and those around them who are affected by such addictive behaviour.

Norfolk-based charity NORCAS has teamed up with GamCare to offer practical advice, support, information and specialist counselling for individuals and those around them who are affected by such addictive behaviour.

Ron Turrell, councillor for NORCAS said: “We are very pleased to be able to extend our gambling services to the Great Yarmouth area, where we know they will provide much needed support to those who are experiencing problems coping with gambling issues.”

NORCAS is the largest independent provider of services for people with drug, alcohol or gambling problems in East Anglia, and is one of GamCare's regional counselling partners.

Together they provide a specific gambling counselling service which consists of an initial assessment and if appropriate to the person's needs, up to 24 sessions, reviewed after every six sessions.

The new service is based in the NORCAS building at 59 North Quay, Great Yarmouth NR30 1JB.
