An appeal has been launched to find bored and frustrated youngsters a suitable place for a youth club.

A group of 13 to 19-year-olds at Hemsby, near Yarmouth, is working with police to set up a Friday night club.

At the moment there is little for teenagers to do in Hemsby and they often have to to hang out on street corners, ending up being accused of causing anti-social behaviour.

As well as finding a venue to meet, the group hopes that sponsors can be found to help meet the club's running costs. It would also be open to teenagers from surrounding villages.

Sgt Andy Brown, of the Caister safety neighbourhood team, said: “These youngsters are really motivated to set up a club. Youths often cite boredom as a reason why they hang around streets, and this project will help the community get involved in solving a problem for the benefit of all.”

Call Sgt Brown or PCSO Debbie Gowen on 0845 456 4567 if you can support the venture.
