HERMAN Primary School has had a boost to its health education teaching materials with Sainsbury's Great Yarmouth store manager Mark Collins delivering a free Grow it, Cook it, Eat it kit.
The kit includes all the equipment for a class of pupils to grow and cook their own fruit and vegetables.
Herman deputy head Heather Delf said: “We're really grateful to Sainsbury's for this great kit, and given the school to kick start our gardening club off. Free materials like this are invaluable and help us educate children about where food comes from and to teach them basic cooking skills, not to mention the importance of healthy eating.”
The Grow it, Cook it, Eat it kit will be supported by a book with the same title and provides information on food's journey from field to fork. Additional copies of the book will be distributed by post to schools in the area participating in the Active Kids Get Cooking scheme.
