A mobile phone network has started work to bring high speed mobile internet to customers in more rural areas.
O2 began work in Filby on Monday to bring 4G to the village, as well as improving the 2G and 3G service too.
And if the roll out and testing is successful, then customers will start to see the new and improved service in the following weeks.
During the work, there may be times when a customer’s signal experiences intermittent service, but the operator has advised that the O2 TuGo app can help, enabling customers to make and receive calls on any wifi-connected device using their mobile number.
Derek McManus, chief operating officer, said: “O2 customers in filby will soon be able to experience faster mobile internet on their devices such as streaming high definition TV, shopping on the go, and video calling.
“For our business customers, 4G is all about working more effectively. They can work remotely access cloud services, collaborate using apps and so on. 4G will make everything easier for them.”
O2 currently offers 4G in over 600 towns and cities across the UK.
