On April 30 the Hippodrome will be the venue for the David Dimbleby-hosted programme in which members of the public ask penetrating questions to top political leaders.
Harriet Harman, the leader of the House of Commons and minister for women and equality, is due to appear in the show.
The programme will renew political links with the 105-year-old Hippodrome as the parents of former prime minister John Major performed there and Welsh firebrand David Lloyd George held rallies there.
Hippodrome owner Peter Jay said: “It is fantastic for the Hippodrome to have Question Time coming here. It is not the first time that there has been political activity here.”
The show will be recorded at 8.30pm on the night in one take and will be transmitted on the BBC two hours later.
Every year, 30,000 people apply to be in the Question Time audience.
