A GREAT Yarmouth holiday park has won a top award.

Vauxhall Holiday Park was crowned the East of England holiday park of the year at the annual Hoseasons Holidays gala awards dinner, beating off strong competition to win the award in the fun and laughter category.

The ceremony, which took place at Southview Leisure Park in Skegness, recognised the achievements of the 400 plus Hoseasons UK holiday parks and lodges locations and showcased those businesses that performed outstandingly in 2008.

Roger Finney, Vauxhall marketing manager said: “We are delighted to have won this award. As it's our guests who have voted for us it means we are getting our holidays just right.

“Everyone at Vauxhall has worked really hard over the last 12 months to ensure our customers have a great break and I know all the staff will be pleased to have won this award and beaten off some tough regional competition.”

Richard Carrick, chief executive of Hoseasons Holidays said: “The UK is set to receive a real boost from the current economic uncertainty, as more people look to holiday closer to home as a result of high exchange rates and airline fuel surcharges.

“Parks like Vauxhall, who offer great service and accommodation, will be able to capitalise on this trend. We are confident that people who haven't holidayed in the UK for the last few years will be surprised by the range of holidays and quality of experiences on offer across the Hoseasons range.”

The awards, which were broken down into region and type of park experience, were presented to the owners who had independently achieved the highest scores in the Hoseasons customer care surveys. In total there were 15 winners and 30 runners up from across the UK.
