AN excited group of pupils and staff from Homefield Primary School were honoured to attend the official opening of the adiZone equipment at Mill Lane Playing Field, Bradwell.
Adizone is the region's first outdoor multi-sports arena and gym built by sportswear manufacturer Adidas to inspire sports participation ahead of the 2012 Olympics.
The children were led through a series of activities and given the opportunity to try out some of the gym equipment.
The greatest honour was meeting Olympic Bronze medallist gymnast Lewis Smith.
All came away from the event feeling inspired by both the fitness equipment and meeting Lewis and several children have already returned after school to try it with their family.
