Homefield pupils get on their bikes
PUPILS in year five at Homefield Primary School have recently embarked on an intensive bicycle training course gaining their level 1 and 2 awards. They can be seen photographed with Bikeability instructor, Simon Edwards, who was invited into a celebration assembly to present the awards.
PUPILS in year five at Homefield Primary School have recently embarked on an intensive bicycle training course gaining their level 1 and 2 awards.
They can be seen photographed with Bikeability instructor, Simon Edwards, who was invited into a celebration assembly to present the awards.
The children have developed skills such as turning corners, signalling, doing u-turns, cycling past a parked car safely as well as general safety awareness and bike maintenance. All these skills are designed to prepare the pupils for cycling safely on the roads.
This has also complemented Homefield Primary School's status as a Bike It school, encouraging more families to cycle to school where possible.
