FOLLOWING a number of burglaries in the Gorleston, Bradwell and Belton areas people are being urged by police to remain vigilant.
The warning follows a spate of recent burglaries, including a large amount of jewellery being taken after the window of a house on Foxglove Drive, Bradwell, was smashed and the house searched on Monday, March 1, between 9.35am and 1.55pm.
Five days later, between 2.30pm and 3.10pm a burglar gained access to a house on Links Road in Gorleston via an insecure door.
It was only after being disturbed by someone calling at the property that they fled from the scene via the rear garden.
Sgt Mark Pack, from the Bradwell SNT, said: “Most burglars are opportunistic, so by taking some practical steps, you can reduce the chances of falling victim to thieves.
“Simple steps such as locking doors and windows and not leaving valuables on display will all make your home safer.
