A CEREMONY has been held to mark the re-siting of a memorial plaque to a former head occupational therapist at Northgate Hospital.

Colleagues had a memorial plaque placed in the garden of remembrance at the crematorium after the sudden tragic death of Elizabeth Stocks at the age of 51.

However, when the maintenance contract for this expired one of her colleagues, Elizabeth Pesman, contacted MP Tony Wright for advice.

Mr Wright helped make arrangements for the plaque to be placed permanently in Northgate Hospital close to the former occupational therapy department as a fitting tribute to the memory of Miss Stocks.

He said: “The re-siting of the memorial plaque was something with which I was glad to be of help. Coincidentally Miss Stocks died twenty years ago and was a well respected member of the occupational therapy team. The placing of this tribute at Northgate Hospital is especially apt and fitting.”

Elizabeth Pesman said: “It is wonderful to see that by re-siting the plaque here in the Crambrook block, Northgate Hospital now honors one of her own, the remarkable Miss Elizabeth Stocks.”
