From the aerial photo of the revamped roundabout it is easy to how accidents can occur.

When travelling south from Caister Road, motorists heading for the Quayside are forced to carry out a sharp left turn when entering the roundabout, to remain on the outside of the fiasco. Already it has become common place that motorists heading for Quayside to physically enter the middle lane on the roundabout (especially large and long vehicles) to avoid mounting the kerb which intrudes fruitlessly into the nearside Lane.

By avoiding the kerb, the motorists impact on the progress of traffic approaching in the centre lane who are turning right for the railway station, Asda and away from town.

The presence of the yellow box in the roundabout is beneficial and justified, but with a modicum of commonsense, the kerb leading to Fullers Hill should have been cut away further (as per the brown area in picture) which would create a smoother left turn, safer route straight ahead, and prevent poor lane discipline which is forced upon motorists due to shoddy planning by Highways.

If not rectified soon, I predict further accidents which will include life-changing and fatal injuries.
