Two people have been released under police investigation following a serious assault and a suspected drink-drive crash involving an ambulance.
The crash happened in St Peters Road in Great Yarmouth in the early hours of Friday morning and saw a policeman standing by the ambulance suffer a minor leg injury.
Police had been called out to the street at about 12.50am after a man was attacked with a pole and suffered facial injuries which needed hospital treatment.
While emergency services were responding to the incident, a Mercedes CLA crashed into the back of the stationary ambulance.
A Norfolk police spokesman said: “A man in his mid-30s who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to provide a breath test has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
