Emergency services are continuing to investigate a fire in Hemsby in which an elderly woman died.

The police, fire brigade and ambulance service were called to Ormesby Glebe in Hemsby at around 7.20pm on Sunday to reports of the fire, which claimed the life of the woman, aged in her 80s, who lived there.

A police spokesman said the woman’s home is still cordoned off as investigations continue.

They said: “A cordon remains in place and the road remains closed whilst officers, assisted by the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, investigate the incident and determine the cause.

“The body is yet to be formally identified but it is believed to be that of the occupant, a woman aged in her 80s.”
