A SUPERMARKET’S generosity has brought smiles to the young people staying on the children’s ward at the James Paget University Hospital.

Asda in Lowestoft donated gifts worth a 1,000 to the hospital in Gorleston which they raised by allowing cars to park on their store car park during the Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival.

Play specialist Marie Cross said: “We are very grateful to Asda who have been extremely generous. The gifts were fantastic. There is an Xbox 360 Kinect and games, CD players, DVD’s, jewellery and lots of other toys too. These gifts will make a great difference to the children in hospital, especially over the Christmas period. I would like to thank the store for this wonderful gesture and for thinking of the children at the James Paget University Hospital.”

The children’s ward offers treatment, care and support for youngsters with a variety of conditions.
