THE James Paget University Hospital continues to be on black alert, a situation it has been in for more than two weeks as demand for beds remains high.
All routine elective surgery is currently being cancelled after the Gorleston hospital continued to see a high volume of patients coming in to A&E over the weekend.
Black alert is the highest level of alert meaning the hospital has run out of beds. The hospital has urged people to consider other options and not to go to A&E unnecessarily.
