Gorleston Tennis Club recently had a surprise visit from two Japanese players who were in the area on business. Takeshi Miki and Shin Nakajima said they were keen tennis players and their first priority on arrival in Gorleston was to Google the local tennis club. They joined in the popular Sunday morning adult team tennis session, which pools players of differing standards into a two-hour competition. Club chairman, Mike Reynolds said: “It was a real pleasure to welcome two such likeable players to the club and know that people from other countries share the same enthusiasm for tennis as we do – after all that is what sport is all about.”

This year sees the 60th anniversary of the founding of Gorleston Tennis Club. Celebrations are planned for the summer. For details, visit
