GORLESTON is set to enjoy a welcome jobs boost with the arrival of retailer Wilkinson in the town.

More than 90 staff are being recruited ahead of the opening of the store at the high street shopping precinct in December.

It was announced in February that the home and garden chain was moving into the 60s era precinct following the closure last year of Godfrey DIY.

The news is the latest retail boost for the town after supermarket giant Morrison created 130 new jobs at its new Gorleston store, which opens next month.

Applicants are needed for more than 60 permanent and 20 temporary jobs, ranging from customer service assistants, till supervisors and security guards.

The finishing touches are being made to the 11,500 sq ft store, stocking a range of more than 25,000 products.

Store manager Tracey Vernall said: "We place a big emphasis on friendly customer service at Wilkinson and our team members play a crucial role in ensuring that every customer coming through our doors is welcomed and served in an efficient and friendly way.

“Whatever position people are interested in, we can promise that working for Wilkinson is great fun and offers some great benefits."

One of the UK's fastest-growing high street retailers, Wilkinson is a family owned business with more than 300 stores across England and Wales.

Recruitment is taking place through Yarmouth Job Centreplus and on the company's website www.wilkinsonplus.co.uk.
