A Gorleston short mat bowls player is appealing for people to support his charity cause as he prepares to take part in a battle of the regions.

Keith Cooke, a builder, will be taking part in the St Georges Cup in Bromsgrove this weekend and will be playing in a team from the south against a team from the north.

The event will see funds raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind and the John Taylor Hospice.

Mr Cooke has set up a Justgiving webpage and has set himself a target of raising £250 for the good causes.

He said: “Last year it raised £14,000 and this year we are aiming for something similar so please anything you can give will be appreciated.

“Please give as much or as little as you can. It is for some wonderful charities and every pound helps.”
