It was a case of Star Wars as well as Star of Wonder when Gorleston’s St Andrew’s Church staged its Nativity carol service.
As well as carols, the Darth Vader theme rang out from the organ when King Herod appeared in the Sunday production.
Seventeen church members acted out the Christmas story, including one dressed as a donkey and another as a sheep. The projector screen provided background scenery.
The drama was organised by Jean Murray, Anne Humphrey and authorised worship leader Stephanie Gostick, who also led the service which was attended by around 120 people,
TVicar of Gorleston, the Rev Brian Hall presented gifts to YMCA workers to be distributed to young residents of the YMCA lodging support. It is the fifth year the church has supported the organisation.
St Andrew’s is gearing up for Christmas Eve with Community Carols at 10.30am followed by Midnight Communion at 11.30pm.
