A village pub that has closed its doors to customers will hopefully reopen in the near future, the company that owns the building has said.

The Kings Head in Blofield, between Great Yarmouth and Norwich, has closed as its publican decided to cease trading.

It is owned by Ei Publican Partnerships.

A spokesman for the company said: “We can confirm that The Kings Head, Blofield, is currently closed due to the publican’s decision to cease trading.

“We’d like to reassure the local community that we aim to reopen the pub in the very near future with a new operator.”

Ei Publican Partnerships describes the pub as “an imposing property that features a splendid red brick façade with past investment put into the pub’s layout and design”.

A history of The King’s Head reveals that it was licensed in 1836 when the population of Blofield was about 1,110 people,
