Police investigating a night-time knife-point robbery at a Great Yarmouth filling station are appealing for witnesses.The armed robbery took place at the Murco petrol station in Northgate Street at around 10.

Police investigating a night-time knife-point robbery at a Great Yarmouth filling station are appealing for witnesses.

The armed robbery took place at the Murco petrol station in Northgate Street at around 10.25pm on Saturday when a man - described as white and in his early to mid 20s - threatened staff with a knife having first pretended to browse as he waited for customers to leave.

Having emptied the till for him the man made off from the scene with a quantity of cash and was seen to run along Northgate Street towards the town centre.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information in relation to the incident and in particular any customers who were in the filling station prior to the incident.
