Man set fire to his own home in Great Yarmouth

A man has admitted carrying out an arson attack after he started a fire at his seafront home in Great Yarmouth which had to be tackled by four fire crews.
Lance Meikle, 42, admitted arson reckless as to whether life was endangered following a fire which he had started at his address in Apsley Road, on July 14.
Four fire crews were called to the scene after the fire was reported about 11pm on the Saturday night.
Two crews from Great Yarmouth and two from Gorleston were involved in tackling the fire at the property.
Norfolk police also were at the scene and at the time of the fire urged people to stay away from the area while the incident was dealt with.
Meikle was remanded in custody and his case was adjourned for a further hearing and reports by Judge Anthony Bate.
