A TROUBLED night's sleep may not seem like the conventional inspiration for a new science fiction novel, but a Great Yarmouth man awoke with the perfect idea for his book, Adrenaline Rush.

Lee Harris, of Herries Close, dreamed up the plot for his book, based on the theme of immortality, which he then outlined to his girlfriend Maddie, 20. And the story has attracted the attention of book publisher Chipmunka, which has produced the 231-page novel and is selling it through its website, www.chipmunkapublishing.co.uk.

The story's main character Alexis awakes one morning to find she has been thrown headfirst into a battle that has been raging for two millennia. Little does she know that the man named Xander who she fell in love with three years previously was 2,300-years-old and she becomes involved in a battle between the ancient Covenant, who want her dead, and the Illuminati, who want to protect her.

The 24-year-old author, originally from Newmarket, is an avid reader of science fiction and supernatural novels and has a passion for history and course writing.

He attended Yarmouth High School before going on to study IT at Yarmouth College.

He said: “It was totally unexpected. Once I had finished my book, I contacted a number of agents over the internet and my agent Darin Jewell contacted the publisher.”
