The man standing outside the Clipper Schooner (Peggotty, Mercury September 16) is Thomas Lake and he is I believe my great grandfather. After he died his wife Georgenna ran the pub. They didn’t marry until 1909, when her first husband died, but we believe Thomas Lake was the father of my grandfather, Thomas Turrell.
