Jerry was among 25,000 happy, healthy dogs at Crufts presented by the Kennel Club and came away with the prestigious Best-of-Breed award in front of 160,000 people packed into Birmingham's NEC.

Lee Studholme, 30, of Hobland Road, hit the jackpot for the fourth time in ten appearances at the competition.

And the A&D Ringcraft member, who has been a life-long canine lover, was left beaming with pride at Jerry's performance on the big stage.

He said: “This is the main show in the world, I've come here every since I was ten-years-old.

“Jerry means everything to me, he's a homebred dog and he's the reasons for all the hard work I've put in over the past year.

“That's why this win means so much to me because it's great to see your very own do so well.

“I already can't wait to come back here next year and defend the trophy, this is a special place and I'm absolutely made up.”
