THE Great Yarmouth and Gorleston lifeboat crew was called to help firefighters tackle a blaze at the old wooden harbour next to the construction site for the new Outer Harbour.
The coastguard reported seeing smoke coming from the area, off South Beach Parade, at just before 7am on Saturday .
Firefighters from Yarmouth were sent to the scene, but called for help from the Gorleston inshore lifeboat to take them to the site of the blaze.
The fire was put out by just before 8am and the damage was not believed to be serious.
