THE South Broads RNLI inshore lifeboat was dispatched to Reedham late last night after Great Yarmouth Coastguard received reports of a man, thought to be drunk, in a dinghy in the river.
The man was using the dinghy in the fast flowing river between Reedham and Langley Dyke.
Due to the potential danger posed by the fast currents and undertow both the stations 4.9m inshore lifeboat the Lord Kitchener and the four-wheel-drive Broads truck were dispatched.
However, shortly before the crews arrived the coastguard reported the man had been able to make it safely back to shore.
