A SEARCH was mounted for a missing person at Carlton Marshes visitor centre near Oulton Broad last night.
The South Broads RNLI assisted the police and the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and Southwold Coastguards in the operation launched just after 10pm.
The South Broads 4x4 was mobilised from the inshore lifeboat station performing a bank search of the area. Two RNLI teams searched along Angles way towards Beccles and around drainage ditches on the marshes.
The station’s larger inflatable lifeboat Broads ILB1 Jean Ryall was sent to carry out a river search, including canoe inlets, looking for any signs of the missing person using search lights and night vision goggles.
After a search of the surrounding area police and coastguard stood down all units in the search as the conditions were unfavourable for a continued search.
