The Shrublands Youth and Adult Centre Charitable Trust have progressed through to the final public vote to win a share of the People’s Millions.
They are one of five successful projects from East Anglia to be chosen as part of the People’s Projects.
The stories of the five groups will be aired nightly during the 6pm news on Anglia TV throughout this week.
The trust, based in the Shrublands Youth and Adult Centre, on Magdalen Way, run a wide variety of activities for local people, including seated exercise, circuit training, walking, football and a youth club for six to 12 year olds.
In addition, these activities include a range of training courses, including basic English and maths, IT skills, bicycle maintenance and many more.
A spokesperson for the trust, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for Shrublands Trust, and if successful, will enable us to continue the work club, archive group, companionship group, health support group, craft group and start up a do it yourself training programme.
“Your votes are so important to hundreds of people who could benefit from this funding should we win.”
The People’s Projects gives people the chance to decide where National Lottery funding goes in the local community.
The Big Lottery Fund have set aside £3m of lottery funding and 95 organisations are shortlisted nation-wide.
The projects are competing for up to £50,000 votes must be cast by noon on March 13, 2016.
