A LOTTERY winner yesterday delivered some early Christmas presents to children who will be spending part of the festive season in hospital.

Graham Howlett, from Lowestoft, donated gifts to patients in the children's ward at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.

Mr Howlett became an overnight multi-millionaire when he won a £2.2m Lotto jackpot in 2004. Yesterday, he donated two portable DVD players, a selection of DVDs and a Wii Fit game to the hospital.

He said: “Being sick or unwell is horrible at any time of the year, but particularly at Christmas. And my heart goes out to the kids who are going to have stay in hospital over the festive season.

“I'm really pleased to be able to donate these gifts and I hope they will go some way towards making the patients' stay just a little bit more comfortable.”
