IT WAS up, up and away for Caister woman Luchia Parker who was taken to her 30th birthday party in style by helicopter.
The surprise present was organised by her partner Simon Carter, 35, on Saturday.
On a perfect summers evening the couple took in sights around Hickling Broad and out to sea over the Scroby Sands windfarm before touching down in a field off High Road in Burgh Castle where Luchia had yet another surprise.
Unknown to Luchia her sister Rebecca Parker, who lives in Australia, had travelled home for the party and the pair had an emotional reunion after the chopper landed.
Luchia said: “It was a complete surprise and when I realised my sister was there I just went into total shock. No one has ever done anything like this for me before. Simon put so much thought into it and I'm really grateful.”
Simon said: “I wanted to get her something different which she would remember and the flight was really good.”
