Golfers have teed up a charity success by pairing up for a cancer support group.
Great Yarmouth and Caister Golf Club hosted a golf pairs competition on behalf of the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Macmillan Cancer Support Committee on Friday, June 22.
It saw 76 golfers taking part and they raised £6,286 for the charity.
Carol Calver, secretary of the fundraising MacMillan committee, said: “It was a fantastic day involving 76 golfers in very trying windy weather although the condition of the golf course was a credit to the club.
“Alas nobody was able to win the car for a hole in one but through the support and generosity of sponsors, players and officials the magnificent sum of £6,286 was raised for the charity.”
The winners of the competition were Tony Voss and Billy Humphreys who received their prizes from past captain Alistair Low.
The committee have raised about £1m in five decades for Macmillan Cancer Support.
