MAGISTRATES from Great Yarmouth were among judges from across the county who have been honoured for playing key roles in Norfolk's justice system during the past two decades.
Eight magistrates were given long service certificates to recognise their 20 years of service, including David Breeze and Chris Doughty from the Yarmouth bench.
Seven of these received their awards from the Lord-Lieutenant for Norfolk Richard Jewson at the council chamber, in County Hall, on Tuesday evening.
John Hope, from the Norwich Bench was among those receiving a certificate and said: “I find working as a magistrate very rewarding and it is nice to put something back into society. The awards are a nice touch. It is nice to know that the whole judicial system recognises the work of the magistrate.”
